WHAT IS THE PR-SART

 

SARTs work with the State Emergency Management Office to plan, prepare for and assist in aspects of animal disaster response; and coordinate available resources across the state. SARTs work with the state emergency management office to oversee aspects of disaster response and coordinate available resources across the state.  In most states, SARTs  facilitate the development, recruiting and training of County/Community or Regional Animal Response Teams (CART, RART) - the actual local response units. (Although different terms may be used in different localities, for the purpose of this course we will use "CART.") States that do not have developed CARTs or RARTs may use their SARTs to respond to animal emergencies. PR-SART, will work to develop the correct processes in Puerto Rico in care of a disaster. We are the ONLY Corp. certified to give and organize SART in Puerto Rico. We have our work cut out for us but with the help of Government State and Federal and our beautiful people of Puerto Rico that love animals, we will be able to prepare the necessary to help our community, animals and owners.
